The Office of LGBT Affairs will host its annual flag raising at City Hall to kick off Pride month and feature speakers reflecting on this year’s theme: Celebrating our Communities.
From parties and drag brunches to family-friendly events and food specials, there are plenty of ways to show your love and support for the LGBTQ+ community in Philadelphia this month. What’s more, this year marks the 50th anniversary of Philadelphia’s first Gay Pride Day in 1972. June 1st marks the beginning of Pride Month, a time to commemorate the 1969 riots at the Stonewall Inn and celebrate the Pride movement and LGBTQ+ community.
